![]() I've had this phone for over a year and have been generally very pleased with it - it's my first smartphone - and I've used it extensively with Skype mobile, and Opera mobile for browsing (which is far superior to the Nokia browser). The build is solid too and it fits neatly in the hand. It also lacks the LED torch button of the E63 (the LED was a powerful sucker and really useful in the dark) but I gather there is third party software for turning the LED on.Ībove all, this phone does what I want a calendar, address book and Nokia maps, while not flattening the battery in hours and being infested with software that runs up the phone bill. It has GPS and a volume rocker button, which the E63 lacked but, on the downside, the old-style recessed top on/off button is out of reach of the right thumb. Eventually I found a refurbed E71 through Amazon and despite paying 2/3rds of the new price for an (allegedly) obsolete phone I am pleased with my purchase. Nokia's current range of 'Blackberry Clones' are not in the same league as the old ones. At the time I did not worry as a replacement would be easy to find.well, no. Then I lost it on a remote coastline in Scotland. Despite owning a touchscreen smart phone I have always fallen back on my venerable Nokia E63, with its long battery life and responsive keyboard (see my review of this product). ![]()
